Richard M Fleming, PhD, MD, JD
InflammoThrombotic Response (ITR)
In 1994 and again in 1995 I presented my theory on what truly causes heart disease - Inflammation & Blood Clotting. This theory not only explained heart disease but many other diseases including:
Coronary Artery Disease (Heart Disease)
Cerebral Vascular Disease (Strokes)
Diabetes Mellitus (Diabetes)
Obesity
Cancer
Many Musculoskeletal Diseases (Joint problems)
Infections,
and various other Immune Disorders
In 1999 The Fleming Theory of Inflammation and Vascular Disease with its Inflammation and Blood Clotting Components caused by Multiple Factors was published in The Textbook of Angiology. John C. Chang Editor, Springer-Verlag New York, NY. 1999,
Chapter 64. Pathogenesis of Vascular Disease. pp. 787-798. doi:10.1007/978-1-4612-1190-7_64,
along with other chapters I wrote on "Heart Failure", "Nuclear Imaging", "Hyperlipidemias", and the use of "Phosphodiesterase Inhibitors".
The figure explaining The Inflammation and Vascular/Heart Disease Theory is reproduced below showing among other things the role that infections play in this InflammoThrombotic Response (ITR) occurring frequently today and known as COVID-19.

From 1999 to 2003 We Published Several Papers Showing How Bacteria Can Make Heart Disease Worse.
This Research Was Also the Early Developmental Work on the FlemingMethod (FMTVDM) Making it Possible to Not Only Accurately Measure Changes in the Body (in this case Heart Disease) But to Also Actually Measure if Treatments for a Particular Problem (again in this instance Heart Disease) Worked.
In 2004 we published "Stop Inflammation Now! " to help guide people in the types of changes they should consider

and discussed The Inflammation and Vascular Disease Theory on 20/20.

In 2005 The Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) asked me to present my ITR Theory and my Developing FlemingMethod (FMTVDM) to Measure Disease and Treatment Response in Greece.
The Poster Sessions included in two of those presentations are shown below.
